Why is the pH of food important?

Updated: Jun 24, 2023

Greetings, thank you for your interest in your health. We will talk about the pH of food.

Why is it important to know the pH of the food we eat?

It is important to know the pH of the food we eat because the more acidic the food we eat the more inflammatory it is, therefore the more mucus it will create in the body when the body digests it. Excessive consumption of acidic foods creates an overproduction of mucus in the body. Depending on where this mucus accumulates it is given a name, for example, if it accumulates in the chest it is bronchitis, if in the cheeks, it is called sinusitis, and so on. There are many factors that influence the growth of diseases in the body. In this blog we will only talk about the pH of food and its influence on our body.

Why does the body create mucus when we consume acidic foods?

The body creates mucus when it consumes acidic foods in order to trap toxins and flush them out of the body. That is why when we get sick our bodies produce a lot of mucus and we throw it out of the body's orifices. This is a completely natural process, but when this process is thrown out of balance through our actions and habits, major problems can develop.

Aside from acidic foods creating mucus in the body, if we do not balance acidic foods with alkaline foods, we create an environment in our body where diseases can develop. No disease can survive in an environment where there is mental, physical, emotional and spiritual balance and health. Since all these 3 bodies (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) work together and can affect each other. We will talk more about these bodies soon.
