There are several types of parasites that humans can develop, and they can be broadly classified into three categories: protozoa, helminths, and ectoparasites. I have personally released fluke worms, tapeworms and I believe roundworms. Here is a list of the most common parasites.
Here are some of the most common types of parasites that humans can develop:
Giardia lamblia: This is a protozoan parasite that can cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, and weight loss. It habits the small intestine.
Cryptosporidium: This is another protozoan parasite that can cause diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting.
Roundworms: Roundworms are a type of helminth parasite that can live in the intestine and cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss.
Tapeworms: Tapeworms are another type of helminth parasite that can live in the intestine and cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea.
Hookworms: Hookworms are a type of helminth parasite that can enter the body through the skin and live in the intestine, causing symptoms such as anemia, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
Fluke Worms: Liver flukes are parasites that can infect humans and cause liver and bile duct disease. There are two families of liver flukes that cause disease in humans: Opisthorchiidae (which includes species of Clonorchis and Opisthorchis) and Fasciolidae (which includes species of Fasciola).
List of the 50 most common parasites around the world. NOTE: these parasites are only found in certain regions, and I'm listing this list for educational purposes, not to implement fear. The most common ones are above. Feel free to copy and paste the name into Google for more details.
